Have you ever thought about what happens when the person we love leaves us in our old age? This story reminded me of that scenario. One day, an old woman recognized a dog as her neighbor’s and wagged her tail. I gave the dog a shirt, but she didn’t trust me initially. The sadness in her eyes was indescribable, but eventually, she fell asleep and had a peaceful dream. The next day, she still seemed tired and didn’t want to go outside. Perhaps, she sensed something in me or was afraid of being abandoned again. As time passed, the dog clung to many memories and always wanted to be with me. She would bury her head in my lap and seemed to want to talk about her pain. I wonder if she remembers her past life.
After much persuasion, she finally agreed to go for a walk with me. I couldn’t help but notice her vibrant green shirt that resembled the color of grass. Her hair had begun growing back, and the doctors were pleased with her recovery. Finally, my promise of a new life for her had been fulfilled, and she looked eager to embrace it. Although she was an old dog, the prospect of a new lease on life cheered her up. Every moment spent together was precious, even if it was only for a day.
